Introduction to Alcohol Inks with Margaret Brackley
< click on image to view samples created by the instructorStudents will learn various techniques on how to move this highly pigmented and fast drying medium on non-porous surfaces; mixing colours can create a vibrant marbled effect and the possibilities are only limited by what you are willing to try. You will work on yupo paper, prepare glass and metal pendants and different sized ceramic tiles. All projects will be finished and sealed by the end of the session.

Now that you’ve been ‘INKSPIRED’ join Margaret for this festive workshop making beautiful glass balls for one of a kind gift giving. Suitable for beginners, this course will touch upon the introductory basics [read above]. This workshop is designed for a single or monthly attendance. Best suited to those who wish to continue studying &/OR folks experiencing Artistic Block. While the challenges are not mandatory, they will push your artistic development in ways you can not imagine! Previously unthought of possibilities are gleaned from the analytical segments where processes and techniques are openly shared.

Fun workshops using vibrant hot wax colours and putting it all together in a luminous painting. Try an encaustic iron or stylus, embed items, blend, gouge, build up layers. Try realistic, abstract, texture, collage, mixed media. You can easily become passionate about this medium! The creative possibilities are endless. Materials provided, but bring your own to embed or collage. NOTE: If you have specific items you want to embed in the wax, they must be completely dry.

Community Art Studio
Join our Community Studio! The cost for the summer months From July 3-mid September will be $40. You may come in and use shared space in one of our two studios Thursday evenings from 4:00 - 8:00 pm or Sat & Sun noon until 4:00 pm,when there are no children's art camps or other workshops taking place. Since we have two studios, chances are very good that one of them will be free. Our next term begins in September, 2018.
