Create En Plein Air, Indoors. Get yourself ready for this or next year's "Paint The Town" as we'll use proven en-plein-air techniques with references, objects or photos. Students are guided to create small works of art. No worries as we paint on an 8 x 10" panel, allowing yourself to enjoy fully your creative journey. As well, you will have the pleasure of breaking studio rules, while learning simple and healthy tricks for taking care of your tools; i.e., no chemicals are allowed, we use salad oils to clean our brushes, pure oil colour paints, and if needed, artist grade oil for flow.
Choose all four dates for the low cost of $100.00 [using this cart] or a single workshop in the next block for $35.00

Introduction to Alcohol Inks with Margaret Brackley
< click on image to view samples created by the instructorStudents will learn various techniques on how to move this highly pigmented and fast drying medium on non-porous surfaces; mixing colours can create a vibrant marbled effect and the possibilities are only limited by what you are willing to try. You will work on yupo paper, prepare glass and metal pendants and different sized ceramic tiles. All projects will be finished and sealed by the end of the session.
Suitable for the novice or seasoned artists looking to try something new, so ...get 'INKSPIRED'! We guarantee you will leave wanting to try more in this vivid medium.

Previously unthought of possibilities are gleaned from the analytical segments where processes and techniques are openly shared.

Fun workshops using vibrant hot wax colours and putting it all together in a luminous painting. Try an encaustic iron or stylus, embed items, blend, gouge, build up layers. Try realistic, abstract, texture, collage, mixed media. You can easily become passionate about this medium! The creative possibilities are endless. Materials provided, but bring your own to embed or collage. NOTE: If you have specific items you want to embed in the wax, they must be completely dry.
