Dear Community Member, The Kingston School of Art is excited to be bringing a Juried Exhibition and Sale back to Kingston in 2018. This exhibition opportunity will be open to all artists living in the greater Kingston area. The venue will be the Window Art Gallery, located in the Williamsville District, and the show will run from June 29 – July 29, 2018. A juried show provides professional development and support to artists since the artwork to be displayed is selected by a panel of judges and prizes will be awarded to the top entries. This exhibition also provides the artists with an opportunity to sell their work to the public. There has not been a juried show in Kingston since 2015. We would like to invite you to be part of this exciting endeavour by sponsoring one of the major prize awards. We are aiming to award three top prizes as follows: we have sponsors for, Second Prize - $500 [donated by Mike Scrannage and Karen Charlton] & Third Prize - $250 [donated by Marie-Rose and Stan Gibson], our First Prize of $750 is available for sponsorship and we will be offering a few Honourable Mention awards as well. Alternately, a monetary, or in kind, donation of any size would be appreciated which would contribute to the production of the exhibition. Any excess funds will be used to support the Kingston School of Art’s extensive instructional programming that is open to our entire community. Find the donation carts at the bottom of this page. The Kingston School of Art is a registered non-profit cultural organization that has been continually active since 1994. The School encourages and shares art in the community by offering art classes and workshops in a wide range of media and styles for all ages and abilities. We are now also offering some programming in French. We offer an extensive children’s program that includes regular classes as well as March Break, PA Day and summer art camps. The School has run the highly successful “Paint the Town” initiative for five years. In 2011, the School opened and continues to operate the Window Art Gallery,Kingston’s only fully accessible, community art gallery. The Kingston School of Art is governed by a local volunteer Board and is run primarily by volunteers. As a sponsor of the Juried Exhibition and Sale, your name will be displayed prominently at the show and on our website: www.ksoa.info it will also be listed in the exhibition program. If you choose to sponsor a prize, that prize can be attributed to your business or organization. Further, your sponsorship will demonstrate your commitment to local artists and the visual arts in the Kingston area.
