Instructors

Our instructors are made up of both people with a teaching degree and/or professional artists working locally with a passion for their craft. All are eager to share knowledge and inspire students, be they hobbyists or young people working towards a future in the arts. At the KSOA, instructors are contracted for their positions. Student feedback is taken into consideration at the time of contract renewal. To find out more about our teachers go to their websites (or click below) to view samples and read their biographies.

Instructors of the KSOA are selected for their quality artwork and their exciting course proposals. If you would like to offer a workshop or course at the Kingston School of Art, send us the following by email (ksoa@kingston.net), with the subject "Instructor’s Resume:

• Resume (and/or bio)
• 3 jpg (500 pxls) examples of work &/or website address
• a short description of your proposed class

If offering a children's program you will be required to bring us the original CPIC form before the course begins (police background check; apply at your local police department; we keep a copy and the original is returned).

If mailing or dropping off 3 photos (not slides) of art; please mark envelop with “Instructor’s Resume”.

After your submission has been reviewed you may be asked by our hiring committee to come in for an interview. At the interview you will be asked to demonstrate your course ideas to us as well as supply us with an outline of topics covered each week for the length of the term applied for.
