For the Young Artist with Elena Tsavena
For the Young Artist... is for children who have already taken a course at KSOA. Along the fun of making art, this class will give students some basic formal instructions on drawing and our young painters will studying working with acrylic paints as well as other projects.

Creativity Explorerswith Elena Tsavena
This course will introduce the Art of the Great classic and modern painters. We will learn about their lives and masterpieces and try some of their techniques to create our own art.

Workshops for Kids
Kids! Have Fun with Madame Pop-up!
Learn the basic techniques of making pup-ups with Lise Melhorn-Boe. Boxes and V-folds are easy and then we'll move on to backbones, towers and floating planes. With lots of samples to look at, you’ll soon be ready to make pop-up books or greeting cards.
This workshop is suitable for children ages 8-12. Younger students welcome if accompanied by an adult.

March Break Camp
March Break Camp at the Kingston School of Art is dedicated to creativity and friendship!
Each day students will enjoy a variety of themes and art- related activities. Drawing, painting, sculpting, crafting and other fine art techniques will be used to widen the students’ perspectives of art. Indoor and outdoor activities in the program are designed to nurture friendship making and peer bonding along with the pleasure of making art.Please, provide your child/children with two healthy, nut-free snacks and lunch.
Full week ($210.00) or a single day ($45.00)
Extended hours care available for an extra fee.
9:00 – 10:30 Drawing, painting
10:30 – 10:50 Snack, break
10:50 – 12:00 Outdoor painting (weather permitting) or indoor painting
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch, break
1:00 – 3:00 – Clay, craft, collages

Instructor's Biography
Elena Tsaneva has been teaching art to children and teenagers for the past six years. She received her Bachelor of Elementary teaching degree from Veliko Tarnovo University, Bulgaria. In 2005, she started her teaching in Municipality Children Complex – Balchik, where she instructed over eighty children to make pictures, sketches, applied art, nature-friendly art and ceramics. Elena’s teaching experience includes working with children aged from 4 to 18. Several of her students have gone to continue their education in Art programs in Universities.
She has organised many exhibitions with her student’s works and several of the children have received awards from National Art Competitions in Bulgaria. As an artist herself, she participated in art-meeting in Dupini, exhibitions in the Town Gallery in Kazanlak, in the Town Gallery in Balchik and “The White Exhibition” in the Palace, Balchik. She has created pictures and ceramics for her family shop “Usinata”. In October 2010 she moved with her family to Kingston, Ontario. The Art programs Elena offers at the Kingston School of Art are diverse and creatively inspiring for both children and teenagers.
