COVID-19 Protocols

The KSOA Board of Directors is committed to providing a safe environment for art, learning, and creativity, and believe that following all public health recommendations is essential to keep our community of artists and volunteers safe.

The Government of Ontario has lifted most public health measures related to COVID-19, and mask wearing is no longer mandatory throughout the province. KSOA follows public health measures and our Board of Directors has announced that those participating in any KSOA programming are no longer required to wear a mask in our studio or gallery spaces effective 27 June 2022. Staff, instructors, and volunteers are also no longer required to mask as of 27 June 2022.

Those who wish to continue wearing a mask are encouraged to do so.  Passive screening remains in effect. Visit COVID-19 Protocols for more detailed information.

COVID-19 requires precautions to mitigate transmission and promote the health and safety of our students and communities at large. As a result, KSOA has undertaken the following safety measures:

  • Reduced capacity to ensure that social distancing can be maintained.
  • Daily cleaning of studios, common spaces, and high-touch surfaces.
  • We strongly encourage all visitors and students to self-screen before visiting KSOA. You can find our recommended self-screening tool here.
  • Personal sanitization stations provided to every student in each studio.
  • Studios equipped with HEPA filters.
  • Respect of all KFL&A health measures.
  • Following international best practices for in-person instruction during a pandemic.

We continue to closely monitor COVID-19 situations in our community in efforts to ensure that we are providing a safe and welcoming space for our artists. The health and safety of our artists and our greater community is our top priority.
