Explore various creative mixed media techniques through collages and zine making! During this six-week course, students will discover how different materials- such as paper, fabric, and found objects- can be layered into expressive original artworks. Come join in the collective creativity!

Create Your Own Adventure - Picture Book Creation
Create your own illustrated picture book!
As the course progresses, you will get to experiment with various mediums while creating artworks that bring your stories to life! Learn how to map out both your story and illustrations, through planning how each image will depict the text on each page. In the final stage, you will get to bind your very own picture book! After the six week session, each participant will be able to bring home their very own completed, unique book to share!

Crash Course in Anatomy Drawing for Young Artists
If you are intimidated to sketch the figure look no further! This course places an emphasis on the form, proportions and movements that can be created in loose, gestural sketches of the figure!
Together we will explore the anatomical anatomy of the body with the help of references of the muscles and skeleton using the drawing media of students
choice! We will also look at how major anatomy markers on the body can be used to simplify the figure into a series of gestural lines. Students are encouraged to bring in their preferred drawing tools, however if they want to experiment with wet materials they are encouraged to do so! Students will finish the course with a sketchbook full of figure and anatomy drawings to add to their portfolios!

Materials Required: Large size sketchbooks are encouraged to get the most out of gestural movements, however feel free to bring multiple sized sketchbooks for play!
Examples of suggested materials include: Charcoal, Chalk, Crayon, Marker, Pencil Crayon, China Markers (My personal favourite!), Pastel, Pencil etc. Students are also welcome to experiment with a wet media such as watercolour and acrylic!
Youth Art Studio
Explore a variety of art mediums in this art sampler class. Students will explore drawing media, pen & ink, pastel, charcoal, acrylic painting, and linocut printmaking with the opportunity to combine mediums to create dynamic works of art.

This course teaches the foundational elements of drawing. We cover Line, Shape, Form, Perspective, Shading and Texture. We also learn how to approach a drawing with an artist's eye and mindset. Fundamentals of Painting
In this 6 week course, students will gain foundational skills in acrylic painting. They will practice different types of paintings, including still life, landscapes, and portraits. Students will learn about different brush techniques, colour mixing, layering methods and various other technical skills. By the end of the course, participants will have a strong understanding of acrylic painting, allowing them to express their creativity in their own original artworks.

Painted Coasters Workshop
Painting coasters will not only protect your coffee table, but also allow you to gain experience in painting on a smaller surface. The blank coasters used in this class will be made from wood, and will allow you to gain experience with painting on wooden surfaces.

Mini Painted Creations
Paint miniatures, while also gaining an experience in painting on a smaller scale, by creating smaller images or designs, on these mini creations. These miniatures are made from wood and painting on these mini creations will also provide you with an experience with using wood as a medium.

ONLINE WORKSHOPS
Branding For Artists
In this 2-part, 2-hour workshop, students will learn basic elements of branding and will create a unique, original brand for themselves as artists. Students will also be introduced to marketing their brand across various media. No special software is required for this workshop.

Intro to Photoshop
Students will be able to use Photoshop for basic image manipulation. They will have a basic understanding of what Photoshop is, all of its main tools and how they are used. Colours, manipulating layers, blending modes, special effects, masking, text and more.
Students will finish the course with the ability to create a unique Photoshop design.

Intro to Graphic Design
For teens/adults who have an interest in entering Graphic Design and would like to learn a bit about what Graphic Design entails, what they can expect and an overview of the many facets of graphic design (typography, colour, layout, design programs, projects, places of work, incomes, clients and more).

Course Refund Policy
- Full refunds are available if the school cancels the course.
- Cancellations by the student made at least a week before the class starts will be given a 100% refund, minus a $20 admin fee.
- Cancellations made between 3 and 7 days before the class starts will be given an 70% refund minus the $20 admin fee.
- Cancellations made after the first class but before the second class will be given a 50% refund minus the $20 admin fee. We are not able to issue refunds for cancellations made after the second class. A credit to the registrant's account may be offered, or, if space is available, the option to switch to another class.
