Well, so much for the year being off to a great start! The KSOA and Window Art Gallery closed on March 17 as mandated by Ontario's State of Emergency. All classes and exhibitions were cancelled. However, our Office Manager, Ilga Weiss, and various volunteers have continued to work on KSOA projects, either remotely or occasionally in the office. Ilga and Barb Carr have been spending many hours setting up the KSOA's new registration/school management software, and we're happy to announce that we went live with the new system on May 19th!
Volunteer Jane Hamilton-Khaan has repainted the school bathroom and it looks great. Jane and fellow volunteer Catherine Gold have organized our library, culling duplicates or unneeded books, and colour-coding everything by broad subject categories. Thanks very much, Jane and Catherine! Jane also keeps an eye on the front garden, and supplies others with home made cookies.
Looking ahead, we're hoping to be able to offer short 4-week courses in June, along with the Children's Art Camps in July and August, and some adult summer courses as well.
