Modern Calligraphy with Lori St Clair
This approach to calligraphy will use traditional Spencerian cursive typeface as a jumping off point for learning scripted calligraphy. We begin with chiseled markers for the morning and shift to pen and ink for the afternoon. The pens can be oblique or traditional pointed pen with nibs. Ink can be India ink or Sumi ink. Markers should be 1.3mm Speedballs or Faber Castell brush markers (any colour) of a similar smaller size. Paper will be provided. Pens and ink supplied by student. Supplies can be purchased at Art Noise.
You can continue with markers for the afternoon if you're looking for a more casual approach to calligraphy. Please make sure they are brush markers for the afternoon.
In no time, with practice, you'll be decorating your invitations, Christmas cards, and correspondence with flair. Perhaps even creating a new signature!
