Observational Painting with a Dramatic Edge (Part II) with Natasha Jabre
This class is a sequel to Observational Painting with a Dramatic Edge, and will expand upon the idea of building an image through observation, color choice, and refinement. Students will construct a still-life over the course of five weeks, using colored stage lights to add consideration to their choice of colors. This class will introduce students to the idea of formal deconstruction (turning sketches into diagrams) while giving greater time and focus to refinement strategies like brushstrokes, blending, highlights, and shadows.
No need to have taken Observational Painting with a Dramatic Edge Part I; beginners are welcome!
Sundays 5:30 – 9:00 pm starting September 22, 5 weeks
