Become a Teaching Artist
Course proposals can be submitted at any time and we review them on a monthly basis.
A part of our mission is to support artists in our local community, Kingston and the surrounding area. Being an artist, handling admin, doing marketing, and finding space can be challenging, so we've taken out the guess work.
At KSOA, our team handles space, pricing, your pay, and marketing materials. Your part is to know your craft and share it with others! We are always accepting applications for new teaching artists that want to be a part of publicly accessible and affordable arts education.
We focus on teachers having the flexibility to teach within their schedules, so you are the one who defines your availability, submits courses and their length, and lets us know what students can expect to learn from you. Please keep in mind that it takes time for us to market a course, so submissions should be for at least two months in advance.

How to get involved
There are some requirements for our teaching artists, as we want to be sure to deliver quality arts education to our students.
1. You must have a portfolio / examples of your work for review.
2. We seek those with previous teaching experience (even if it is outside of an arts background! We know these skills can be transferrable.)
3. A resume with a reference be contacted. We are seeking great artists who can teach and keep to schedule (weather permitting!)
Does this sound like you and you ave a great idea for a course (or even a couple?) Then we encourage you to apply!
