Mini Makers
Join Teaching Artist Maddi Andrews for "Mini Makers!" This program invites junior artists, ages 4 - 6, to discover their creativity through experimentation and play with a wide range of artistic materials, including paints, clay, drawing materials, and more. Read & Create
Dive into the joy of art with this popular kids' course! We will blend the excitement of storytime with art projects. Every class features a charming story, followed by mixed media art projects inspired by the tale. Youth Classes (Ages 8 - 12)
Stop Motion 101
In this course, students will be able to create their own Stop-Motion movies! Students will learn to create their own characters, backgrounds, and stories to animate using clay, found objects, and more! Students will need a device with a camera that can download the app Stop Motion Studio (mobile phone, tablet, iPod. Mixed Media Fashion Drawings
In this workshop we will be using colour and textures to create collages in the form of a fashion illustration. Students will then use other mediums like paint, markers, and embroidery to add details to their garments. Making Comics
Become a comic creator in our Making Comics course with artist Colton Fox! Learn the steps to create your own comic from frame lay-out, planning your story, to filling it all in! Students will leave with their own comic book by the end of the course. Drawing & Painting
This immersive course delves into various drawing and painting techniques/styles, offering a hands-on exploration of pencil, charcoal sketching, watercolours, pastels, acrylics etc. The little artists will be guided through step-by-step lessons, emphasising foundational skills while encouraging creative expression in a fun and supportive environment. Fine Art for Kids
This enriching course is tailored to introduce young minds to the fundamental building blocks of artistic expression. Through interactive lessons, students will explore elements of art and principles of design like line, shape, colour, texture, unity, balance and more. They will create many masterpieces in a fun supportive environment and walk away with extensive knowledge in basics of fine arts. Teen Classes (Ages 12 -17)
Brushstrokes & Beyond Beginners
In this course students with learn about creating finished paintings from sketching to finishing the canvas for hanging. Students will develop their colour mixing and composition skills, and learn to scale artwork from sketches to canvas. Students will create several finished pieces exploring different themes and subjects, including the use of colour, still-lifes, as well as student’s choice. Brushstrokes & Beyond Intermediate
In this course students will develop their creative process skills, planning and implementing a series of completed paintings. In this level 2 course students will continue to explore the use of colour and space on canvas. Intro to Inks
A class that covers the basics of inking, and different materials. Ink pens, dip, brush, stone, colour inks. The aim will be to explore different ink techniques using guided prompts and instruction, and by the end have a small amount of finished ink pieces. Teen Creative Writing
Join Yume Wu during this Teen Creative Writing course as you explore a new genre of YA (Young Adult) fiction each week such as mystery, fantasy, solar punk, and dystopia. Elements of creative writing like script/comic writing, character building, setting, and tone will also be delved into Fridays from 4:30 - 6pm | 19 April to 31 May (8 weeks) Teaching Artist: Yume Wu Audience: Ages 12 - 17 Pro-rated option available |
Course Refund Policy
- Full refunds are available if the school cancels the course.
- Cancellations by the student made at least a week before the class starts will be given a 100% refund, minus a $20 admin fee.
- Cancellations made between 3 and 7 days before the class starts will be given an 80% refund minus the $20 admin fee.
- Cancellations made after the first class but before the second class will be given a 70% refund minus the $20 admin fee. We are not able to issue refunds for cancellations made after the second class.
