The Kingston School of Art is an independently operated, registered charity
providing art education to Kingstonians of all ages and stages since 1994.

Our Story

Our Mission

The Kingston School of Art, a non-profit charitable organization, was formed in 1994.  Governed by a community based volunteer Board of Directors, the School is supported by fundraising, student fees, donations and grants.

People involved in the School recognize the importance of art and believe  that affordable fine arts programming should be available to the Kingston community.

We are also home to the only publicly accessible lithographic printing presses in Kingston, keeping access to this hands-on artform alive. We welcome community learning and participation in the lithographic craft.

To provide accessible year-round art programs within a supportive environment for people of all ages.

To manage these programs within a non-profit service.

To address financial barriers for participation.

To offer programs in a studio-based environment with artists/tutors/masters for hands-on instruction and a practical artistic experience.

To foster artistic individuality and innovation.

To enhance the opportunities for the cultivation of art within our community.

Land

Access

Kingston School of Art is situated on the traditional land of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe. We are grateful to live, learn, and create on this land.
Kingston School of Art looks forward to welcoming all visitors. We do ask that you call ahead to visit our space outside of class hours so we can best accommodate your visit. Service animals are welcome.

Our main entrance to our space is located at the West entrance of Providence Village. We do have automatic doors at the main entry and halls as well as an accessible elevator.

There is parking available onsite.

We strive to remove barriers and make our spaces and programs more accessible for all individuals. Please direct any inquiries or feedback on access to [email protected].
