Call for New Board Members at Kingston School of Arts

The Kingston School of Arts (KSOA) has been proudly serving the arts community for over 30 years, providing high-quality arts education and engaging experiences to every member of our community. We are committed to fostering an inclusive arts environment, ensuring accessibility for all ages and skill levels, and actively bringing the transformative power of the arts to you.

As a voluntary member of KSOA’s Board of Directors, responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the mission and values of KSOA by helping the organization achieve its goals and involving others in KSOA’s work.
  • Understanding KSOA’s programs and activities; identifying ways to assist, and taking initiative to support KSOA’s various projects.
  • Acting as an ambassador for KSOA by creating interest and excitement that brings ideas, volunteers, new partnerships, and resources to the organization.
KSOA invites qualified individuals to apply for positions on our Board of Directors. We seek passionate and committed candidates with a background in human resources, fundraising, operations, or arts management to help us shape the future of the arts in our community.

Application process:
Interested candidates should submit their resume and a letter of interest detailing their goals for the future of KSOA to [email protected] by April 7th, 2026. Applications will be reviewed by the Board, and all applicants will be notified by the end of April.

Ideal candidates will:
  • Have a robust understanding of the arts and its impact on society.
  • Possess experience in human resources, fundraising, operational management, or arts administration.
  • Be able to commit to regular board meetings and additional committee involvement. (6 board meetings per year, 3-year term)

Join Our Teaching Team!

Teaching Artists

KSOA is always looking for new Teaching Artists to join the team! We accept applications on an on-going basis.

Our Teaching Artists:
  • are contracted each term based on what proposals are submitted, and the needs of our students
  • get paid an hourly rate based on Teaching Hours, senior and junior level artist rates for those with experience, and those looking to learn what it's like to run classes!
  • must submit a valid Vulnerable Sectors Check for teaching kids classes
  • Submit your own schedule and course outline. You choose what you teach, we support you with space and the administrative work!

We are always looking for:
  • Kids & Youth Instructors
  • Adult Instructors
  • Workshop Instructors
  • Open Studio Facilitators

Program Educators
KSOA is looking for new Program Educators who are looking to get more experience teaching, or are just plain passionate about teaching kids! Our Program Educators are the team that lead our field trip bookings, using our pre-planned program options - so no lesson planning involved! 

Program Educators must have availability during normal school daytime hours, and be able to provide a valid Vulnerable Sectors Check. 

This is an occasional, position with no set hours, and is based on the number of bookings we receive.
