Volunteers
Kingston School of Art is almost entirely volunteer-run, and we'd love to have you join us. There are many ways to become involved in the operations of the school and gallery. We aim to offer volunteer experiences that are mutually beneficial for our volunteers and our organization.
Programming & Special Event Volunteers
These volunteers help out before, during and after programming run by KSOA, whether it's during our classes, off-site events, workshops, festival booths, or specialty programming! Programming Volunteers are needed to help set-up, clean-up, and/or help lead the program or booth! Any Programming Volunteers wishing to work in our classes or children's workshop will need to provide a valid CPIC. Practicum students wishing to gain their hours at KSOA need to submit a letter of intent and resume directly to [email protected].
Marketing & Engagement Volunteers
These volunteers help us get the word out there! Marketing volunteers can be tasked with helping create marketing materials, or help put up posters around the city when events are coming up!
Juried Exhibition Volunteers
These volunteers are committed to helping out during our biggest fundraiser of the year: the Juried Exhibition! Duties for these volunteers can range from helping during artwork in-take and pick-up, moving pieces during the jurying process, putting up posters, finding fundraising, helping during the opening receptions, and more! The Juried Exhibition is a year-long planning process with the main need for help happening from August - October. Juried Exhibition Volunteers are also still welcome to enter the show themselves! Only Juried Exhibition Committee members are exempt from entry.
Gallery and Administration Volunteers
This team is the front line of Kingston School of Art and Window Art Gallery, welcoming visitors during open hours and public events. Additionally, volunteers provide assistance with registering participants for classes, answering inquiries, and maintaining demographic tracking information. These volunteers may also be tasked with helping with the installation and/or take-down of exhibits in the Window Art Gallery, or prepping the gallery for the next show.
